INTRODUCTION:

Jason Miele of Miele Floors is a small family business, locally owned and operated. I met Jason a few years back when I personally visited his showroom. With his laid back demeanor and comical personality, I was overly impressed with the follow up calls I received regarding my visit. Great marketing and sales skills is a must for a small business.

Jason has been working in the flooring industry for almost 25 Years. Starting out as an Apprentice. Through hard work and determination, he was able to start his own business. Establishing relationships along the way, he was able to employ some of the same professional installation crews he once worked with at the beginning of his career. With a long history of installing floors throughout the quad city areas and attentive personal guided service - Jason is expanding his showroom rapidly with many options in surfaces, tile, molding and cabinets.

LUXURY VINYL PLANK FLOORING: (LVP)

What is Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring?

Luxury vinyl plank flooring is made of compressed layers of vinyl, typically with wood grain texture that simulates the look of natural hardwood flooring. The multiple layers make LVP more durable and comfortable to walk on than standard vinyl flooring manufactured in large, flexible sheets. unlike laminate with a wood particle core that is more susceptible to water damage.

DURABILITY:

LVP is engineered to withstand high-traffic areas, resist scratches and repel moisture.

  • Residential: ideal for pets and children
  • Commercial: offices and main lobbies
  • Hospitality: hotels

The only draw back to LVP was that it wasnt condusive to anything is rubber wheels. For example powered wheel chairs, bicycles and hospital gurney beds. The floating fllor types may not be able to withstand the torque from these types of items.

AFFORDABILITY:

Average Cost per square foot is much less than engineer or real wood.

COST EFFECTIVE:

Resistant to stains and requiring minimal maintenance makes LVP very desirable product. Regular sweeping and occasional mopping area usually enough to keep it looking pristine. Saving consumers time and effort in cleaning routines. Another benefit to being cost effective is that due to the price, this product can cover a large area for minimal cost. So very well suited for commercial spaces.

How to Clean & Care for LVP:

  • Broom and dustpan: A standard bristle broom is sufficient to sweep and capture loose dirt and debris.
  • Microfiber mop: Gazzo says string mops can apply too much water and recommends microfiber models only.
  • White or apple cider vinegar:  Standard strength vinegar provides the acidity as needed to remove dirt and grime without leaving a soapy residue behind. I like using apple cider vinegar because it provides the same cleaning properties as white vinegar, plus “a little extra fragrance.”
  • pH-neutral floor cleaner: Standard cleaners like dish soap can leave streaks. Bona Floor cleaner is pH neutral and doesn’t contain ammonia that can damage vinyl flooring.

NATURAL APPEARANCE:

Due to advanced printing and embossing technologies, LVP can replicate the natural look of hardwood, tile, or stone with an incredible amount of realism. Consumers can choose from an array of colors, textures and patterns that mirror wood species such as oak, maple and rustic hickory.

DESIGNS & STYLES:

Another key advantage to LVP is the ever changing color trends that will complement interiors perfectly. This versatility makes LVP an attractive option for seeking flexibility without compromising quality. LVP is not just a wood look but also has LVP stone and tile appearance in a variety of sizes.

INSTALLATION:

Easy installation with an innovative click-lock systems makes LVP a hassle free process to be installed either on a concrete or wood subfloor. Warranties options.

ENVIRONMENTALLY CONSCIOUS:

Manufacturers product LVP using recycled materials and its long-lasting nature means it can be replaced less frequently compared to other flooring options. Its energy-efficient production process and recyclability further contribute to its eco-friendliness.
